Aftercare Procedure
- Make sure your hands are washed and sanitized before cleaning your tattoo.
- To clean, apply a mild soap on your fingers and gently rub on tattoo. Rinse off with clean water. Do not use a face cloth or scrub to wash your tattoo as this will damage the skin and ink.
- Dry tattoo immediately with a clean towel or preferably a paper towel.
- Air dry tattoo for a further 20-30 minutes before applying any ointment or cream.
- To improve the healing of your tattoo we recommend using Cheackyโs SOAP and OINTMENT which consists of Aloe gel and minerals that heals the tattoo perfectly and is sensitive for the skin. For alternatives, please check with your tattoo artist first as some ointments will lighten the tattoo.
- DO NOT use VASELINE or ZAMBUCK. They will damage the tattoo.
- DO NOT pick at your scabs. The scabs have to fall off on their own.
- DO NOT submerge your tattoo in water for a minimum of 3 weeks after procedure is done. Water will severely damage your tattoo.
- DO NOT expose your fresh tattoo to sun during the healing period. After the healing period a sun block of no less than SPF45 must be applied to the tattoo to keep the colour bright. Exposure to sun damages the ink and Tattoo becomes faded.
- PLEASE NOTE that for the first few days after the procedure the tattoo may seep ink, blood or lymph fluids that will stain clothing and bedding.
- Touch ups should not be required if the aftercare procedure is followed as stated above. Should you require touch ups, an appointment can be arranged after the 8 week healing period. Touch ups will be charged at R150 per needle used. Should the you fail to book for a touch up within 6months after procedure is done, you will be charged the full amount of the original procedure.
